A handsome, if somewhat neglected example of a Prussian Infantry Hanger Model 1715.
As can be seen from the images, this example has a heavy cast brass hilt, which carries unit markings to the knucklebow, quillion and half shell guard.
The 23.25 inch slcightly curved blade carries old rust, pitting and corrosion for its entire length up both sides. The blade is tight in the hilt, with no movement.
29.5 inches overall. Sadly there is no scabbard.
A very handsome old hanger, which would display very nicely over the fireplace as is, or could be cleaned to improve its appearance.
