A very well made Percussion sidehammer pocket pistol, in need of some restoration, mainly a replacement hammer.
Octagonal sighted barrel, with scrolled decoration to the action. Chequered butt with oval white metal escutcheon, and lionshead butt cap.
Signed to the top flat "Golden, Huddersfield".
Likely William Golden, who was in business as a "Gunmaker, ironmonger and saw manufacturer". He established his business in Huddersfield in 1822, and by 1837 had premises at 2. Cross Church Street. Later Hofrustmeister to the King of Prussia.
Sold as an exempt item under Section 58 (2) of the 1968 Firearms Act, to be held as a curiosity or ornament.
