1796 Light Cavalry Troopers Sword

1796 Light Cavalry Troopers Sword

Code: 11279

SOLD

An untouched example of a 1796 Light cavalry troopers sword.

Stirrup D guard with slot for a sword knot, shield shaped langets and large "ears". The leather covering now partially missing, exposing the wooden core beneath.

This example with a plain 32.75 inch single fullered curved fighting blade. No visible inspection or makers markings.

Largely untouched condition overall. some signs of previous cleaning, particualy in the six inches around the ricasso.  There is movement at the grip ferrule, and a small amount of movement between blade and hilt. This is likely due to the original blade washer having perished.

No scabbard.

Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
