A lovely, and untouched example of the distinctive figure-of-eight 1804 Pattern, or double-disc guard Royal Naval Cutlass.
The guard retaining a good deal of its original painted finish, with some light rust bleed beneath, and deeply marked with a broad arrow. The distinctive ribbed grip bearing the same finish.
This example, maker marked on the spine to "Reddell" with crowned GR and inspection stamp to the blade, which measures 29 inches. Some age staining, but no real pitting or corrosion to speak of.
No scabbard.
A scarce find in this condition, and unconditionally guaranteed to be genuine Georgian example.
