An 1822 Pattern Infantry Officers Sword for restoration.
This example has been has been rather neglected.
The brass 1822 pattern "solid" guard remains in pretty good condition, as does the grip which is undamaged, and has all of its original covering remaining, along with the twistwire. Both hilt and blade are firm with no movement.
The first half of the blade nearest the hilt remains in reasonable condition, with largely visible etching, but the lower half has pitting and areas of active rust. The blade also has a slight bend.
Being sold for restoration, spares, or repair. If you just want an original sword to hang on the wall, are just starting a collection, or are a budding restorer, then this could be the sword for you!
