A Scarce Elizabeth II Royal Company of Archers "Gentleman's" short sword.

This fine quality Ceremonial Sword of the Royal Company Of Archers, which has served as the Sovereign's Bodyguard in Scotland, since 1822.

This example produced by The Wilkinson Sword Company, London. The 19 inch blade is etched with foliate scrolls and thistles, the Royal coat of arms, and the Elizabeth II Royal Cypher. Retaining a coat of old grease.

The hilt of brass embossed with scrolls, with integral crossguard, further etched with scrolls, and ball finials.

Housed in its correct black leather scabbard with brass mounts, the top mount with frog stud, and ball finial to the drag.

Overall in very good condition, some minor staining to the blade. 

Not an easy pattern to find, and seldom seen on the open market.
