A very good, untouched 19thC example of the distinctive Afghan Pulwar or Pulouar.
This example is in need of some light cleaning to remove the light rust and grease, but is in generally pleasing condition, and has not been messed around with.
Substantial curved 31 inch blade with triple fullers. There are markings in the fullers on one side, and a makers marking towards the right hand ricasso. The blade remains very sharp, and this example was certainly made for use.
The sword is not solid in the hilt, the fluted pommel/grip can rotate. Something is loose in the pmmel, likely old adhesive which has come loose.
These sword have increased in value and popularity in recent years, and with a little work, this will be a very attractive sword.
