A very good example of a quality Great War period Scottish cross hilted officers broadsword.

This example is retailer marked to the Army and Navy Co-operative Society, Victoria, London, but judging by the proof slug, was manufactured by Wilkinson Sword of Pall Mall, London.

Shagreen grip bound in silver twist wire. Some usage wear to the top and bottom edges from being handled. This could be dyed to blend the rest of the grip if so desired. All holding firm with no lifting. The pommel with celtic cross motif can be removed, so that the full dress basket hilt can be added. Cross guard with ball finials.

Double fullered ricasso with retailer markings and a "HW" proof slug. Single central fuller up the blade with typical standard thistle and foliate etching with crowned GVR cypher. Serial number at the edge of the ricasso.

Blade length 32.5 inches.

Housed in a correct steel dress scabbard with twin hanging rings.
