A very good condition Elizabeth II 1912 pattern Cavalry Officers Sword.

This example produced by E&F Horster Solingen, Germany.

35 inch single fullered blade, etched with the crowned ER II cypher and foliate decoration.

Housed in its steel dress scabbard with twin hanging rings.

Engraved on the blades spine "Captain P.S. Mosse 14/20th Kings Hussars".

Pierre Sylvain Mosse, known as "Peter" born on the 25th of January 1925. He served during WW2 with the RAC, regimental number 339444. He transferred into the 14th/20th Hussars in July 1947.

Captain Mosse won the regimental medal for "contribution to the military efficiency or military honour of the Regiment" in 1952.

He served as the Chairman of the regimental socitety from 1991 until his death on the 13th June 1995.

Fitted with the correct pattern bullion sword knot.

The sword is in very good condition, the blade being particuarly bright, with only small areas of light staining. The bowl guard very clean, with minor loss to the plated finish. The scabbard would benefit from a clean and polish, with areas of plating loss, particuarly towards the drag.
