A scarce Elizabeth II 1854 Pattern Scots Guards Officers Sword.
This example, by Wilkinson Sword, Pall Mall, was produced in 1953, the first year of her reign, and likely one of the very first produced. Above the Wilkinson mark it states "By appointment to his late majesty King George VI".
Until recently this example was being carried by a high ranking serving officer. I beleive it was originally purchased by his father, and has been refurbished by Wilkinson, before their closure in 2005. It would suit another serving officer, as it is close to a parade standard.
The 1854 pattern gothic Guards hilt, bearing the regimental badge of the Scots Guards. The shagreen grip and wire bound grip is complete, and in very good order, with light wear. It retains its original bullion dress knot to guard,
The plated 32.5 inch blade is profusely etched with the regiments battle honours, the regimental badge, and the crowned "ERII" of Queen Elizabeth II. It is highly reflective, and very difficult to photograph.
A scarce early ERII sword, of parade quality, which, with a very light clean and tidy, would once again grace the parade ground with a serving officer or the display case of the specialist collector.
Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched. Please send this at the time of ordering, to prevent unnecessary delay in your order being dispatched.
