Code: 10783
A Victorian Gordon Highlanders Officers Sword by Henry Wilkinson.
This example fitted with the special pattern regimental hilt, incorporating the regimental badge. This appears to have been covered in a red paint, which will need to be removed. Good shagreen grip with silver twistwire. The pommel nut removable to allow the fitting of a basket or cross guard.
The 32 inch double fullered broadsword blade is not in the best of condition, with only a fraction of its original etched decoration remaining. No serious pitting, but very worn overall. Partial visible serial number.
A rare sword, which will improve with some careful cleaning and TLC, and with research potential, if the serial number can be decyphered. No scabbard.
Strictly over 18's only.
