A very fine silver hilted Irish hunting sword, with horn grips.
This example bearing Irish silver hallmarks. The date letter is partially obscured, likely by an early cleaning attemp, but it resembles the letter "C" for Dublin 1719. It cannot date post 1730, when a third duty mark was introduced.
Plain, straight blade measuring. 24.75 inches with single spine fuller running the majority of its length. No movement between blade and hilt.
Some cracks to the grip, but all holding firm, with no movement.
An elegant weapon, from a more civilised age.
Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
