Officers Leather Swagger Stick

SOLD

An interesting Private Purchase infantry officers Sword Swagger Stick.

This example produced by William Waterer, of 9 Pugh's Place, Carnaby Street, London. He trained at the Wilkinson Sword factory, before going into busines for himself in 1891 aged 17.  He retired aged 70 in 1944.

This example of excellent quality, with officers sword grade etching to one side of the blade, including the Waterer logo to the ricasso, and the retailers marking of "Flights Ltd, 4 New Burlington Street, London" to the central section.

The 13.5 inch blade has been honed to a vicious point. It would have made an effective close quarter weapon, or perhaps for use in case of capture.

Generally good condition, looks to have some minor losses to the leather outer, but solid condition with good colour, and an excellent fit/match along the stitching line.

Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
