An absolutely superb sword, which judging by the serial number would date to mid 1916.
Lots of original finish to the blade with only one or two small areas which could easily be polished. Minor losses to hilt plating. Shagreen intact, with minor loss of colour. Good enough to be carried by a serving officer.
Housed in a fined example of the brown leather field service scabbard.
32.5 inch blade, found with the usual floral etching, serial number, makers marking, crown and royal cypher of George V, along with the words "Royal Engineers" surmounting the winged lighting bolts, along with the motto "Ubique".
Strictly over 18's only.
