A scarce Edward VII Police Bengal/Burma officers Sword.

The guard of 1827 pattern rifles form, with crowned "BP" with the cartouch. Fully chequered backstrap, with plain, domed pommel. The grip of shagreen bound with copper twistwire, in very good order.

The 32.75 inch single fullered blade marked "SW Silver&Co, London and Portsmouth" at the ricasso, with brass proof slug to the other. Fully etched blade with twin vacant cartouches, floral decoration, with etched ERI cypher to one side of the blade, and crowned "BP" to the other. Good clean condition, with minor areas of dark staining.

Housed in its attractive brown leather field service scabbard with polished steel throat a drag, in very good order, with only minor scuffs.

The only one of these I've encountered, having owned and sold several of the more common "IP" or Indian Police variations.

Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
