SOLD

A scarce George V Bandsman's Sword. One of the harder WW1 era British weapons to find.

This example from early in George V's reign. It is likely only a small amount were produced, due to the large quantities already in service. Once WW1 began, these ceremonial blades would have taken a back seat to the more necessary bayonet production.

This 1895 pattern sidearm is in very good, untouched, condition,. It is well marked, carrying production dates for Septermber 1911. It was produced by Mole of Birmingham, who are a comparatively rare maker. It has a unit/stores marking to the brass pommel. All tight, with no movement between blade and hilt.

It is housed in its correct brass mounted leather scabbard, with matching date and maker mark. The mouthpiece also has a corresponding "22" to the marking on the pommel, so this is an original matching set.

All in all a very pleasing example.
