Brass "Slot" hilted hanger, circa 1770.
This example has recieved a blow to the rear of the guard, and subsequently the rear portion, including the quillion, is now absent.
Wooden grip wrapped in leather with copper wire binding. Some loss to the leather.
29.75 inch blade, with shallow single fuller towards the spine for most of the blades length.
No visible markings or decoration to the blade, so in all probability a practical fighting weapon from around the time of the American Revolution.
A good affordable example which could be restored and improved, or conserved as it is.
Strictly over 18's only.
