Wilkinson Officers Sword VRI

Wilkinson Officers Sword VRI

Code: 10090

SOLD

This is a strange beast, and I suspect may have an interesting story to tell.

Serial number dating to 1897, this sword appears to have been rehilted to either Army Service Corps or Royal Artillery use.

The Rehilt has been done well, the leather grips are I suspect, a more modern replacement for the originals.

The 32.5 inch blade carries the VRI cypher, so likely for an officer originally serving in india. The Blade also carries a double family crest with motto "Deo et Patriae"

Housed in a standard steel dress scabbard with two hanging rings.

An interesting research project which won't break the bank.
