A very good, and fresh to the market WW2 German K98 Bayonet.
This example with wooden grips, maker code stamped "J.SCH" for "Jetter and Scheerer " and dated (19)41 to the blades spine. This being one of the harder makers to come by, their original business being a listed as a surgical instrument maker.
Profuse waffenampt stamps to bayonet and scabbard, the pommel catch functioning. The blade carries old storage grease, which I wiped away from the markings, and appears to be in very good condition. Lots of original finish to both bayonet and scabbard, with some light rust/wear to the exterior.
Non matching numbers to bayonet and scabbard.
The scabbard fitted with a reworked 1917 dated frog, which appears to have had a cavalry style strap added. First of these I have seen, so no idea if its is an original alteration, but it certainly hasn't been carried out recently.
