A very good example of the German Quill pointed 1898 pattern bayonet.
This example with number to crossguard, and maker marked to "E&F Horster, Solingen"
No visible Imperial markings, so possibly a contract bayonet. Generally very good condition, minor rust only, and should clean up very nicely.
Housed in its original steel mounted leather scabbard with no shrinkage. Some loss to the stitiching at the seam, which appears to have had an old repair.
