A good example of the WW2 German M98 dress bayonet.
This example produced by Alcoso of Solingen, and bearing their weighing scales trademark at the ricasso.
These bayonets were used with parade and walking out dress uniform and was worn by non-commissioned officers. It has a mortise slot and working release catch. This is the long version with a 9.75 inch, single fullered blade.
The polished blade is in excellent condition, covered in old dried grease which has protected it. There is a small amount of movement between the hilt and the blade, I suspect it needs a new leather washer.
The grips are also in good condition. It retains its original metal scabbard, which has some wear but no dings or dents.
Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
