A good example of the WW2 German M98 dress bayonet.
This example produced by A. Evertz of Solingen, and is so marked at the ricasso.
These bayonets were used with parade and walking out dress uniform and was worn by non-commissioned officers. It has a mortise slot and working release catch. This is the long version with a 9.75 inch, single fullered blade.
The polished blade is in good condition, with some small areas of staining. There is no movement between the hilt and the blade,
The hilt has some minor wear, and grips are in good condition. It retains its original metal scabbard, which has some wear but no dings or dents.
