This scarce post war invention, marketed as The "Splitter" was a simple but ingenious idea to utilise some of the many thousands of surplus German Butcher bayonets.
It could be bolted to a wall, or table, and then used to split kindling.
This one is well used, but something of a rarity in bayonet collecting circles.
