A rather unloved example of a scarce 1907 Pattern SMLE Bayonet with hooked quillion. This example has been stored in a loft, and all the exterior parts have active rust, which will require a good clean and tidy to sort out. However, the blade is in suprisingly good consition, with lots of original finish.
This example dated 1912 and produced by Enfield, with various other markings to one ricasso, bend test marking to the other.
No oil hole. "4.G.G." Unit marked to the pommel, Pommel catch working well.
The blade has some contact marks and has been service sharpened.
Housed in a correct WW1 scabbard with tear drop stud. Markings to the rear.
A good untouched example for a collector on a budget, or for somebody who prefers the "well worn" look, but still a sought after original bayonet, and worthy of some careful TLC.
