A good 1907 Pattern SMLE Bayonet with hooked quillion.
This example dated May 1909 and produced by Chapman, with a faint crowned ER and various other markings to one ricasso, bend test marking to the other.
Unit marked originally "R.I." along with other marks which have been crossed through and a rack number.
No oil hole.
Housed in a correct early scabbard with tear drop stud.
Nice untouched condition overall, with some light staining and old grease to the blade, which has been service sharpened, and has some contact marks.
A very good and sought after bayonet to an important unit.
