When I first saw this bayonet I thought it was marked "I.F" but now I am not so certain that the second letter isn't a mistruck "E".
Unit marked "I.F/E. 523" to the pommel.
Even patina to the pommel, with a reasonable amount of blue finish visible. Pommel catch fully working.
This example produced by Sanderson, dated October 1915. Various other markings, last reinspected in 1918, The blade with signs of service sharpening for its entire length, with one noticeable edge nick, next to another smaller one.
Housed in the standard leather scabbard with steel mounts. Some light rust to the top mount, retaining a good amount of original finish, and with some deeper rust/corrosion to and area of the bottom mount. No visible markings to the leather.
A good untouched bayonet in need of some gentle cleaning, but should improve well.
Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
