A very good, and completely untouched WW2 German Firemans Dress Sidearm.
This example has never previously been in a collection, and is fresh to the market.
The hilt with "eagle" pommel, chequered grips secured with twin rivets, and wavy cross guard.
The 9.75 inch single fullered blade is bright and has makers name "Eickhorn Solingen" along with their famouse squirrel logo. This particular variation would indicate manufacture between 1935 and 1941.
Housed in its correct black painted scabbard, and fitted with its original frog.
The frog is now quite delicate, and detached down one side, where the stitching has perished. Still displays well, but could be repaired with care.
A good untouched example which could be improved.
