A beautiful engine turned solid silver snuff or tobacco box of good guage, bearing the winged badge of the Royal Air Force in 9 carat gold.
This example bearing hallmarks for London 1938, with makers markings for W.H. Manton Ltd.
The gilt interior with a romantic presentation inscription to a lady called "Shelagh" in French "Je t'aime plus qu'hier, moins que demain" which roughly translates to:
"I love you more than yesterday, less than tomorrow."
Very good unpolished condition, with very minor bumps to the base.
Measuring 3.25 inches by 2 inches.
