A fascinating letter from Field Marshal Earl Haig, thanking a Miss Streeter, thanking her for her support for Poppy Day.
Dated January 1927, on joint headed Paper for the "Appeal Department for The British Legion" and "Field Marshal Earl Haig's Appeal for Ex Service Men of all ranks" it is framed, and the original enevelope to Miss Streeter is preserved on the back.
It is clearly signed in blue ink "Haig F.M."
Douglas Haig died one year later, on the 29th of January 1928.
A scarce example of the autograph of the Commander-in-Chief of the British Expeditionary Force during the First World War.
