Scarce WW1 German Trench Knife

Code: 11902

SOLD

Scarce WW1 German Trench Knife.

Of a type I haven't seen before. It has been stored for many years with the other fighting knife listed in a 1915 dated German bread bag.

I was able to find another example on pages 164/165 of "Deutche Kampfmesser" by Eugen Von Halasz.

These knives have a unique locking system on the tin plated scabbard which carry design registration marks DGRM 633823.

The knife is a single edged hunting style knife, with wooden grips carved to simulate stag horn. The blade is marked "Garantiefeinstahl" (Guaranteed Fine Steel)

Good untouched condition, staining and old grease to the blade. Some movement in the bolster/crossguard, and stiff to withdraw. The sheath retaining a good amount of the feld grau paint.

Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
