A good WW1 period Fighting Knife, converted from a bayonet.
This example appears to have been produced from a German 1884 Mauser bayonet. The blade has been rehilted with a hardwood grip held it place with two brass rivets. The pommel is flared and gives a good grip. Markings have been removed from the bayonet, with the exception of a small marking on the spine.
Housed in its original steel mounted leather scabbard, with frog stud removed.
