An unusual M3 fighting knife with modified hilt. I do not know if this was done as a theatre style repair, or if the knife was sold off post war. The inclusion of plexiglass in the grip would indicate a field repair, but who knows, if only it could talk.
The blade is marked "U.S. M3-UTICA" and shows signs of sharpening and use. The crossguard is also a very good replacement, in brass. Slight movement between the crossguard and blade.
Housed in its original M8 scabbard.
