A very scarce MK 1 kukri by E.Boota Singh&Sons. This example also carries acceptance marking for the Rawalpindi arsenal.
Sadly this example is in rather worn condition, but one of only a handful of Mk1 kukri I have seen by this maker, who was contracted by the Indian Government to supplement the suply of kukris at Rawalpindi. They also went on to produce equally scarce MK II pattern kukris, up until 1917. In addition, Boota Singh made private purchase officers kukris, and officers swords.
The blade measures 13.5 inches, and the "fat" grip 4 inches.
