A scarce late 19thC private purchase officers quality kukri, by the renowned gentleman's tool and knife makers Holtzapffel.
Heavy nickel silver butt cap, full width tang, hardwood slab grips.
Single fullered blade marked "Holtzapffel&Co London"
Blade has been sharpened, and has old staining, lighting pitting and light rust to both sides. Would benefit from some gentle cleaning.
Blade 5.75 inches, 9.75 inches overall.
Housed in its original thick leather sheath with a later leather frog for belt carry.
In kukri collecting terms this is a very rare piece, and one for the serious collector.
