Large Kukri

SOLD

An impressive antique kukri. Likely dating to the first quarter of the 20th century.

This example with a curved 16.5 inch blade with kaudi and twin spine fullers. The blade is covered in old grease and light rust. . The blade maintains a keen cutting edge, with old signs of sharpening, edge nicks, and some loss to the point. General condition is good, and untouched, and should clean up very well.

The hardwood grip measures 5 inches, including the bolster, making this an imposing weapon. The area above the grip ring has been chequered at some point during its working life. Old cracks, but no movement between blade and grip. Some small chips to the pommel, and an iron pommel plate has been added to protect it.

Housed in its original leather scabbard. This is of leather covered wood construction, with some tooled decoration, which is now rather dry and tired, with small areas of loss, and spliting to the cutting edge.. It would benefit from some care and attention. It does retain its original pouch, retaining the "khissa".

Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
