An impressive and highly unusual antique stag handled kukri. Likely dating to the last quarter of the 19th century.

This example with a curved 15 inch blade with kaudi and twin spine fullers. The blade is covered in old grease and light rust. General condition is good, and untouched, and should clean up very well.

Both sides of the blade have been etched with an unusual geometric auspicious eye decoration. I have only noted this pattern of  decoration on a small handful of high quality blades. The blade maintains a keen cutting edge, with old signs of sharpening.

The staghorn grip measures 10 inches, making this an imposing weapon. No movement between blade and grip.

Housed in its original leather scabbard. This is of leather covered wood construction, with some tooled decoration, which is now rather dry and tired, with small areas of loss. I suspect it is also missing a metal chape, as this area is split. It would benefit from some care and attention. It does retain its original pouch, and an interesting karda with a cloth bound handle.
