An interesting conversion of a British Lee Metford Bayonet to a fighting knife.
It has had its locking mechanism removed, the blade shortened, given a spear point, and sharpend on both edges.
The blade showing its original markings at the ricassos, and is stained and pitted in places.
This example is housed in a bespoke leather scabbard which has been fitted with an Indian made 08 Pattern Bayonet frog, with faint makers markings to the rear.
Solid overall condition, the bayonet could do with a clean and tidy.
