An Officers private purchase campaign knife, fork and spoon set, of the type popular in the late Victorian period, and still used through WW2 and the partition of India. I would think this example is late Victorian/Edwardian.
The simple yet ingenius design allows the heads of the utensils to be stored inside each others handles for safe carriage. This is the first example I have noted with the addition of a spoon.
The knife and spoon carry marks for Frederick Asman&Company, of Sheffield.
Measuring eight inches in length when "closed".
