RAF Battle of Britain Rolls Royce Merlin Engine Piston Ashtray
Produced in small numbered to raise funds for the RAF Benevolent fund.
It is engraved "Never in the Field of Human Conflict was so much owed by so many to so few" Winston Churchill
To the centre is the RAF eagle crest, and beneath:
"Made from a Rolls Royce Merlin engine piston as used in the ‘Battle of Britain’ August to October 1940"
These pistons were fitted to both the Hurricane and the Spitfire.
