1907 Pattern SMLE 209th Field Company Royal Engineers

Code: 11825

SOLD

1907 Pattern SMLE Bayonet, originally marked "2.H.C. D." and crossed through. Likely Home Counties Depot.

Unit marked "209 RE." to the pommel denoting issue to the 209th Field Company Royal Engineers

This example produced by Wilkinson, with various inspection and other markings to both ricasso's, including a date of 1916. Pommel catch in good working order.

The blade showing signs of sharpening, old rust, light pitting and staining. The point now slightly blunted. In short, a typical well used Engineers sidearm!

Housed in the standard leather scabbard with steel mounts. Loss of stitching to the rear seam, scuffs and creases.

A good untouched bayonet in need of some TLC and cleaning, but should improve well.

Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
