Modified K98 Bayonet

Modified K98 Bayonet

Code: 11925

SOLD

An interesting WW2 German K98 Bayonet.

This example with wooden grips has matching numbers and was produced by FNJ (Alexander Coppel) in 1944.

It is unusual in that the blade profile has been ground to remove the fuller and create slender a convex blade. All the markings have been kept, so I have no idea if it was done for a specific purpose, or if the soldier just preferred it that way.

The rest of the bayonet is about as nice as you would hope to find, the scabbard looks to have been partly varnished, showing where the frog once sat, the hilt has traces of black paint. Clear Waffenampt stamps to pommel and scabbard.

Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
