A good example of an British Type 'D' survival knife.
This example with no military markings, only the Wilkinson sword logo, so possibly a very early prototype, or private purchase/commecial example?
The horn grips secured with two screws and bolts, like a bayonet of the same period. The horn marked where the the scabbards retaining strap has rested for many years.
Heavy, seven inch single edged blade with lots of original finish, signs of light sharpening and light pitting.
Complete with it's original leather sheath, some rust to the rivets.
An interesting example which will improve with some TLC.
