Honourable Artillery Company Officers Sword

A scarce mid Victorian Honourable Artillery Company Officers sword, regimentally marked and carrying the family crest and initials of the original owner.

The flat diamond type blade maker marked at the ricasso "T. Warren 23 Curistor St, London". (Operating from that address from 1846-1861)

The blade engraved with foliate etching, the initials H.A.C. to one side, and "F.W." below a family crest of pressed palms.

The guard in overall very good condition, with a good amount of original finish. Free from major dents or buckling, and complete with curved scalloped guard displaying a white metal flaming grenade.

The shagreen grip in very good condition, and retaining its original twistwire binding.

Steel dress scabbard generally sound with some areas of corrosion, cleaned corrosion, and light rust.

30.95 inch blade.

A very good example of a difficult to find pattern with research potential.
