1821 Royal Artillery Officers Sword

SOLD

Code: 10121

A good and untouched example of a Victorian Royal Artillery Officers Sword.

This example retailed by "T. MALING, Sadler, Woolwich"

Unusually the pommel is domed, and the blade doesn't feature the usual VR cypher, but rather foliate etching and field guns to either side.

All shagreen and twistwire complete to the hilt with only minor wear.

No movement between the blade and handle, all remains solid.
The blade is clean and and straight. The etching is clear and fully visible.

The swords hilt and scabbard are all a rich plum colour, and could be brought back with some careful polishing.

The scabbard is a perfect fit and original to the sword. it has some minor bumps, and is slightly buckled toward the last ten inches towards the drag. It has no splits or holes, and this does not effect the drawing or sheathing of the sword.

Blade length 32.5 inches.

Strictly over 18's only.
