Wilkinson Officers Sword Central India Horse

SOLD

Code: 10152

The sword of Walter Deneys Vanrenen, who served with the Central Indian Horse from 1935. In 1940, whilst serving as the adjutant he was partly responsible for putting down the mutiny of the Sikh elements of the regiment before their embarkation for Egypt.

Sword in good untouched condition, and would benefit from a light clean. Some tarnish and loss to the hilt, particuarly the interior of the guard. Has the added bonus of the correct sword knot for armoured units. Shagreen and twistwire complete, guard crisp and unbuckled, with good definition to the GRI cypher.

Blade is bright, showing the initials W.D.V. with the rest of the standard etching clear.

Blade length 32.5 inches.

Housed in a correct field service leather scabbard. Some cracking/dryness, and in need of a feed. Damage to the drag.

Sold with a copy of the Wilkinson Ledger page. Worthy of further research.

Strictly over 18's only.
