1912 Pattern Cavalry Officers Sword

SOLD

Code: 10158

A very pleasing and untouched George V WW1 period example, complete with original sword knot, and housed in its field service scabbard.

Shagreen hilt almost entirely complete, and retaining all of its twistwire.

Bowl guard without any dents or buckles. It is still bright, although there is some loss to the plating. The interior is discoloured, and would benefit from a clean.

35.5 inch blade marked to J.R Gaunt&Co (Late Edward Thurkle) London&Birmingham.

Beautiful clear etching, with only minor blemishes, which will polish out if required.

Scabbard is original, and an excellent fit, with only minor damage to the drag, which is slightly bent.

This great War pattern is getting harder to come across, this is an excellent opportunity to acquire an original, untouched example, which would grace any collection.

Strictly over 18's only.
