A very unusual and quite effective conversion from a broken SMLE bayonet.
Elongated brass cross guard carrying the initials GV along with the nuber 1805 to the opposite side, likely the initials and partial serial number of the owner.
Blade length 5.75 inches, 9 inches overall.
The scabbard also skillfully cut down, and fitted with a belt loop fabricated from a Sam Browne cross strap.
Likely Great War in date.
Strictly over 18's only.
