An interesting Victorian bowie knife, circa 1880, with steel and nickel silver mounts.
Staghorn grip, with nickel silver pommel cap and crossguard. Th ferrule of steel, with a single fullered, clip pointed blade just under seven inches in lengh. The ricasso has been crudely stamped with the name "W.Moore", likely the owner.
The knife housed in a tooled brown leather scabbard, with nickel silver mounts, the chape now loose. It has been fitted with a now worn WW2 1939 Pattern leather frog, commonly associated with Home Guard use. It is quite possible that this good quality knife was utilised by a member of the Home Guard as an auxuillary weapon.
Measuring 12.5 inches overall.
Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
