A good example of the 1853 Pattern socket bayonet. This example carries no foreign markings to bayonet or scabbard.
17 inch blade, bright with old cleaned areas of corrosion, WD and inspection markings at the forte. 20.5 inches overall, with 20mm socket.
Housed in its correct brass mounted leather scabbard. Various stamped markings to the front flat of the leather. Old repairs to the stitching, and the tip of the bottom mount. Signs the top mount has been realligned, probably due to shrinkage, but all good and hoding firm.
