An Indian Tulwar

SOLD

Code: 10943

A very good example of an early 19thC Indian Tulwar.

This example has a steeply curved 30 inch single fullered blade, with two impressed makers or armoury markings. The cutting edge has been sharpened, and exhibits a handful of contact marks/edge knicks from meeting another blade.

The steel hilt has twin langets, oval quillion, and a curved knuckle guard. The disk shaped pommel has a bronze lanyard ring, shaped like a half moon.

The sword is housed in a tooled and decorated leather covered wooden scabbard, with a metal drag. Some minor loss to the top of the scabbard, but generally holding firm.

All in all a very good quality sword, a cut above the standard tourist grade blades, and something which may have significant age.

Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
